Information can be found relating to allergen, gluten and other “free from claims”, information on “natural” and GMO labeling.

Code of Federal Regulations Title 21(CFR)
The 21 CFR 101.22 includes information on food labeling in the United States, including labeling of spices, flavorings, colorings and chemical preservatives.

USDA Resources 

USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference

The USDA Agricultural Research Service offers a database available to the public free of charge that provides nutrient information for food items including spices.  The database is searchable by food item, food group, or manufacturer’s name to find the nutrient information.

To access the USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference, in the search box on the upper left hand side of the page under the text “Enter one or more items”, enter the name of the spice and hit enter.  Information including nutrient values will populate for your information.
